Mashrek Advisory Board     


To serve the school’s vision and to build bridges between our educational systems and global education in different cultures, the school established an Advisory Board that consists of two international educational experts with vast experience in the educational field. The Advisory Board was created for guiding and making non-binding recommendations to the School Director regarding academic issues and to advise on matters that directly concern the educational programme or any other school matters.  

1- Ms. Theresa Forbes: An international educator with extensive experience in school leadership and headship, new school development, government advisory roles, online learning, curriculum review and design. She has worked as Director of the International Primary Curriculum, Senior Advisor for the English National Curriculum and Head of Regional Development AEM for the International Baccalaureate Organization.

2- Jaap Mos has been involved with national and international education for more than 30 years. As the founding Principal of The International School the Hague - the Netherlands, he started working with the IB in 1998 and continued to do so ever since. Following he held integral responsibility for the establishment of the United World College Maastricht, Netherlands and more recently, for the International School Utrecht, an IB 3 programme school in the Netherlands.

While working in IB schools, Jaap developed a passion for the role of language in its relation to identity, international mindedness and academic development. He was the founder and director of LanguageOne, a Dutch based specialized organisation that offers and develops mother tongue programs for Dutch as well as other languages in international schools within the Middle East, Asia and Western Australia.

Since 2018 he has been the Founding Director of International School Delft, an IB secondary school at the campus of the Technical University in Delft, the Netherlands.

Jaap has been a member of the IB Regional Council for MEA since 2011 and member of the Advisory Council of Dubai International Academy since 2009. He joined the Mashrek Advisory Council in 2016.

He is living with his family in Amsterdam and is holds an MA and an MSc from Leiden University (the Netherlands).
