Letter from the School Director

Dear Envisioners,
Over 35 years of involvement in the education sector locally and internationally, we were able to draw the road of our passion in teaching and learning with perseverance, patience and grit. My journey in education began 40 years ago, teaching children with learning challenges and difficulties that enlightened me to believe which taught me that progress and opportunities are always accessible and attainable open when we believe in human and individuals capabilities and potentials; where schools are the paramount environment for doors and pathways to great individual unique achievements. We all aspired to turn Mashrek into an inclusive organization that seeks excellence in its mission and practices.

Mashrek’s progress and success grew from years of dedicated work and a series of ambitious goals. As founders of our school, Mr. Bassam Malhas and I had a mission, vision and values that are now deeply rooted in our teachers, staff and community as a whole. This incredible sense of belief, teamwork and dedication has elevated Mashrek from its beginnings in 1993 with 172 students and 28 employees to become one of the leading schools in Jordan with 1980 students and 397 employees. During each phase, we connected with people who made Mashrek such a special place — staff, students and parents; all who have vested interest in our collective success.

We have successfully achieved excellence in our practices by your our community’s inspiring, thoughtful, caring, dedication and student focused work, progress and achievements.

Today, we are poised to lead innovation and positive change in education. Through our ‘Open Space Learning’ approach and ‘Grouping and Re-Grouping of students’ methods, we are in a position to enable more dynamic learning opportunities that will engage students in intellectual and creative inquiry, research, individual and group projects, and independent learning and education.

Mashrek International School has embarked on a revolutionary chapter of educational transformation.

We have a collective responsibility to serve each other, our students and entire community while sharing our experiences with other schools locally and internationally; to spread our knowledge and practices for the benefit of students and communities as a whole.
