IB Diploma Programme
IB Diploma Programme (DP)
At Mashrek International School, the IB Diploma Programme (DP) offers a rigorous, internationally respected curriculum for students in Grades 11 and 12. Designed to prepare students for success at university and beyond, the DP develops knowledgeable, reflective, and principled learners who are confident thinkers and effective communicators. Through academic depth, global perspectives, and independent inquiry, students are challenged to take responsibility for their learning and engage thoughtfully with the world around them.
Why Mashrek for the IB Diploma Programme
At Mashrek, every DP student is known, supported, and challenged to achieve their best within the IB Diploma Programme. Our experienced IB educators combine high academic expectations with personalized guidance, preparing students for the demands of the DP and for university life. Through a broad range of DP subject choices, small class sizes, and strong teacher–student relationships, students thrive in world-class learning environments, including science labs, design technology studios, Art rooms, audio and video studios, and a dedicated learning hub. Anchored by core IB elements such as Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay, the programme develops critical thinking, research, and time-management skills while supporting students’ growth as confident, compassionate, and responsible young adults.
Academic Excellence & IB Results
Mashrek International School has been an IBDP accredited School since 2004, with a strong track record of academic success. Our IB Diploma Programme results have consistently remained above the world average, reflecting the strength of our teaching, academic support systems, and student commitment. This sustained achievement demonstrates Mashrek’s dedication to high standards, careful monitoring of progress, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Wellbeing and Balance in the DP
We recognize that the Diploma Programme is academically demanding, and student wellbeing is a priority throughout the DP years. At Mashrek, students are supported to develop resilience, balance, and self-management skills. Through pastoral care, mentoring, and the CAS programme, students maintain healthy routines, build strong relationships, and learn to manage stress effectively—ensuring success without compromising wellbeing.
University Counselling & Guidance
Mashrek’s University Counselling Department provides personalized support throughout the DP years, guiding students and families through every stage of the university application process. Counselling includes subject selection guidance, university and career exploration, application planning, essay support, and preparation for interviews and standardized tests where required. Students receive individualized advice aligned with their academic strengths, interests, and aspirations, ensuring informed and confident post-secondary choices.
Career Counselling & Future Pathways
In addition to university guidance, Mashrek places strong emphasis on career counselling and future readiness. Students are supported to explore career pathways, understand evolving global opportunities, and reflect on how their strengths and interests align with future professions. Through workshops, individual guidance, and reflective planning, students develop clarity, purpose, and confidence as they prepare for life beyond school.
Partnering With Parents
We value strong partnerships between home and school during the DP years. Parents are encouraged to engage regularly with teachers, and coordinators, to support academic progress, and wellbeing. Open communication ensures students are supported holistically throughout this important stage of their education.
