What is the IB Diploma Programme (DP)?
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with external examinations that prepares students, ages 16 to 19, for success at university and in life beyond. The DP has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. The programme provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.

Teaching and Learning in the Diploma Programme

The approaches to learning 'ATL' are deliberate skills and attitudes that permeate the IB teaching and learning environment. Focus on ATL will improve the quality of teaching and enable learners to be self-directed and motivated lifelong learners who aspire to achieve personal goals.
The IBDP Programmes are:
- Based on inquiry and focused on conceptual understanding
- Developed in local and global contexts
- Focused on effective teamwork and collaboration

The DP Programme Model

The model shows the DP student at the center derived from the philosophy of an IB education. Followed by a focus on the Approaches to learning (ATL)—demonstrating a commitment to developing skills for learning and Approaches to teaching—emphasizing DP pedagogy, including collaborative learning through inquiry.

The Diploma Programme incorporates six subject groups:
