Dr. Hana Al-Nasser Malhas cofounded Mashrek International School in 1992 and since then she has been the School Head Principal. She led all the curriculum changes throughout these years and overseas the academic and well-being aspects of students till this day. Dr. Hana led the International Baccalaureate Authorization process of the three IB Programmes.

With over 35 years of experience in the educational field, Dr. Hana held numerous positions within the educational sphere. She worked as a special education teacher and a consultant for schools in Jordan, as well as a consultant at Al-Maw'el Center for Educational and Psychological Consultation, one of the first specialized centers in Amman and the region.

Dr. Hana cofounded the Private Schools Council in 1989 and presided over it from 1999 to 2002. She participated in the establishment of the Children’s Human Rights Center of the Jordan River Foundation. She also participated in the committee that conducted a study for establishing The Children’s Museum of Jordan which was eventually inaugurated in 2007.

She is a member of the Injaz Social Leaders Program for youth in public schools and speaks annually to girls in public schools. She was a member of the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC) in Hiroshima, which initiated the role of educational institutions and religious communities in the provision of education for all children free from abuse. In November of 2013, the International Baccalaureate Organization appointed her as a member of the IB Africa Europe and Middle East Regional Council. 

Dr. Hana also attended a number of conferences, seminars and workshops including the Near East/South Asia Council for Overseas Schools, the European Council of International Schools and in September 2013 a seminar at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Boston, entitled: ‘Think Tank on Global Education.’

Dr. Hana has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Psychology from the Arab University of Beirut in Lebanon, a Diploma in Special Education from the University of Jordan, a Master’s in Education from the University of Eastern Michigan and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the Arab University of Amman for Higher Education.

Dr. Hana was appointed MEIBA President in 2017.

She currently chairs the Senior Leadership Team and Academic Leadership Team at Mashrek International School.
